As I was planning for my friend's
Will Turner costume, and contemplating his extremely curly hobbit-like
hair, it occurred to me that if you just took the shirt and vest of the
Will costume, added new pants, and walked around barefoot, it would
make a pretty decent hobbit costume-- a perfect way to get Dan to come
in costume to Trilogy Tuesday! Luckily, he agreed with me, so I made
some simple elastic-waisted short pants out of a woven cotton fabric from
the clearance rack at Joann, and voila! Boy hobbit costume.
