There are so many fantastic costuming sites out there, I could never link to
them all. But I'll give it my best shot. Here you'll find links to a
number of fan costumers, as well as resource sites I've used in the past.
My costuming buds
- Leia Costuming: Clothing a
Star Wars Obsession - In addition to Star Wars, you'll find Lord of the
Rings, X-Men, and Moulin Rouge. If the site design looks familiar, it should;
I based this site's organization on hers.
- Ferdalump Frumps - If you can dream it,
Ferd can make it! I think she's made every Padme costume from Episode
2. Be sure to check out her Gone With the Wind dresses.
- Michaela de Bruce - An
incredible number of beautiful costumes! LOTR, Phantom of the Opera,
Moulin Rouge, and tons of historical garb.
- Katherine's Dress Site - Katherine
does great recreation costuming for SW and LOTR, but it's her historical
stuff that will blow you away. And it's almost all hand-sewn!
- Maggie's
Costume Site - Not only does Maggie run the Padawan's Guide, she makes
lovely costumes! SW, LOTR, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter,
Moulin Rouge...
- Kay Dee Designs - Kathy's gorgeous recreations are jaw-droppingly accurate-- mostly Star Wars, and also some LOTR and BSG.

- Alleycatscratch - The
absolute, definitive, be-all end-all of Lord of the Rings costuming
research. Cat Devereaux and her helpers have done a fantastic job of
organizing and analyzing almost every single costume from the movies.
If you want to make a LOTR costume, this is the place to go. You can
also check out their associated Yahoogroup discussion
list for the very latest information.
- The Padawan's Guide - The best
resource on the web for Padme and Jedi costuming. Reference photos,
pictures of fan costumes, tutorials for some of the costumes, and it's
updated almost daily. What more could you ask for?
- The Jedi
Council Costuming & Props board - my online costuming home; they have
threads on just about every Star Wars costume imaginable! Check out the
"Welcome to the Forum and Thread Index" post at the top for links to each
costume's thread.
- Obi Wan's Jedi Academy - A solid
all-around Star Wars costuming tips site, not just for Jedi. They have tutorials
for numerous costumes; I found their Leia belt information to be invaluable.
